Summary:
SMUD is a participant of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) and is required to spend the funds earned from it on qualifying categories including: education on the benefits of plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) transportation, communication of benefits of PEVs to current and future PEV customers and other promotion to help increase the adoption of PEVs in the SMUD service territory.
